My Review of
Insight by Maren Klement.
Insight was an interesting read. For me the story through up some great thinking points. But mostly showed how love can really help people through there darkest hours. Such as Will’s return from war and his PTSD and other scars left from his experiences.
The story itself follows Will as he returns to his partner Alex scared and broken from his traumatic war experiences. Will Alex’s love still be enough to see them through? Read this book to find out.
I thought the author did a great job at portraying both Alex and Will at the core of just being in love. No different from any other couple, even though in this story they were a gay couple. But for me reading this book it made no difference love is love. Reading how they met to some of the heartbreaking memories of Will experience made me really feel for the characters.
I also thought this book talked of being patience and understanding to really get to know Will’s true feeling and thoughts, which I found humbling and touching between both characters.
This book is very easy to read and has good sized chapters for if you need to put it down and continue another time.
Insight is a book that I would recommend to anyone who wants to read about love, war and getting back into the life you once knew. Will and Alex are two great characters to follow through such a well-written story. So, if you like heartfelt stories with love at its core you’ll love this novel.
